| "This is a way stop on the lake crossing between Bariloche, Argentina and Puerto Montt (or Puerto Varas) Chile. It is the only hotel there and it is an overpriced dump with nothing meaningful to do while one whiles away hours waiting for the tour to begin.
Although we had pre-booked and paid for superior accomodations we were given two tiny rooms with dirty pillows and ragged bedding. Our rooms faced ongoing construction aht went on from early morning until sundown (9:30 PM).
We were first told that ours were superior accomodations which they surely were not. We were then advised that there was no such thing as superior accomodations (which was another lie as we saw them the next day). The hotel obviously overbooked this class of accomomodation and would not even give us a dinner credit for our overpayment. We were denied this and told to take the matter up with our travel agent. There were a couple of others in our group who were similarly affected.
The only reason to spend a night here is if one opts for the two day lake crossing with an overnight stopover. Since we spent so much time waiting for our connections, and didnot enjoy the hotel at all, we would recommend that you opt for the one day crossing and bypass staying here at all. " About the city; "What town? 120 people live here and there is nothing at all to do here." | |
