| "For the amount of money ($395 one night!) I expected 5 Star room. However, view was overlooking a motel, TV was small with only 2 poor reception channels, no in room tea/coffee facilites, had to use 'trademan's entrance', landlady virtually begged that we did not invite friends (did she think they were thugs??), there was no info on how to use the WiFi in the guest info book, room was small, decor was aimed at over 60's and shared balcony. If I want communal type accomadation I'd stay in a hostel. I really expected 5+ star luxury (we had just that in other places for half the price), and was nearly in tears at having wasted the money. On the upside, large bed, ok spa bath, nice brekkie (cooked by the husband).

Having visited New Zealnd twice, these were the most unfriendly hosts we have ever encountered. There is now much better accomadtion in Tekapo for much better value, this was grossly over-priced, not even a biscuit with tea and coffee, which as the above states was not even in room. We had far far better accomadation in the many very friendly motels for a third of the price. We would NEVER recommend this, people like this should not be in the hospitalty business."
