| "I stayed in week 52/2007 there. Of course I left my money belt (documents, money - 230 Euro, 500 Rand, 100 Dirham) at the hostel safe. The 1.1.08 my flight went back and so I asked the hotel manager to give me back my money belt from the hostel safe. I had to wait some time, finally I got it back - documents still there, all money gone. Though the manager insisted that there is no worth calling the police as they will not do anything I insisted on calling them. Later this kind police man told me that the manager told him that I lie and that is impossible to steel from the hotel safe as only it is him and his son who have the keys. So what shall I believe - did they steel it ?
They took no responsability and so I can only warn other tourists not to leave anything in their hostel safe.
And Magda, the cleaning lady there told me that the manager is overdue paying his staff. So what shall I think. Furthermore I have to warn tourists paying their excursions there by credit card. Though this is not legal he adds 5% surcharge for using credit cards." About the city; "Pretoria has quite a few interesting things to discover and some really good restaurants. " | |
