"Lots of charm to the old part of the city and along the river Garonne. A bit congested at the moment because of massive construction projects. Beautiful elegant shops and buildings. Good selection of gourmet restaurants. Friendly Tourist office, with maps and advice as well as carriage guided visit and old bus tour.
A good starting point to visit the surrounding areas: Vineyards of Medoc and St Emilion, the Atlantic beaches and Arcachon, the vast pine forest of Les Landes"
